Welcome Ms. Poe!

Dear Covington Harper Elementary School Family,

I am so excited and truly honored to introduce myself as Assistant Principal of Covington Harper Elementary, alongside Mr. Whitten and Mrs. Sieiro! As a fifth-grade teacher who helped opened CHES, it is not lost on me how special this school community is and the impact this school has had on my life.

I am a Radford University graduate, where I earned a bachelor and master’s degree in Elementary Education. More recently, I attained an Educational Leadership master’s degree from George Mason University. I began my educational career as a teacher at Leesylvania Elementary, where I taught for five years before having the opportunity to help open Covington Harper Elementary. My teaching experience ranges from second to fifth grade. I feel very fortunate to continue to have the opportunity to be an educational leader for Prince William County, the county in which I also received my elementary, middle, and high school education.

My time in education has taught me the importance of building relationships with staff, students, and families. I look forward to continuing to build these relationships in our efforts to do whatever it takes to ensure that all of our students learn and grow at high levels. Again, I am truly honored to have the opportunity to continue to have a positive influence and impact on the dedicated teachers, students, and families at Covington Harper Elementary.
