As we are entering the cold and flu season, this is a reminder of the best health practices to decrease the spread and transmission of viruses in PWCS schools.

Please remember to cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze and throw used tissues in the trash.  If you don't have a tissue, cough, or sneeze into your elbow, not your hands.  Wash hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds, dry hands with a paper towel, and use the paper towel to turn off the faucet.  If soap and water are not available, hand sanitizers may also be used to preform hand hygiene.  Remember to stay home when you’re sick until at least 24 hours without a fever or the use of fever reducing medicine.  Together we can help stop the spread of germs that may make you and others ill.

SCHOOL NURSE

The purpose of the School Health Program is to create an environment of wellness for students so that they may benefit from their educational experience. To ensure this PWCS regulations must be followed.

Vision & Hearing Screening

All kindergarteners, 3rd grade students, and those new to PWCS will have vision & hearing screening.

Medication Administration
School personnel cannot administer ANY medication until an authorization form, signed by the parent/guardian is on file in the clinic. All prescription medication must also have a physician's signature. See main clinic page (Nurse's Corner) for links to frequently used forms.

Health Concerns
Please report all student absences to the school at 571-466-4500 by 9 am daily AND notify the school nurse if your child is absent due to a contagious illness. Also, notify the nurse of any health concern or condition that may affect your child's school day.
